learning resources:

Tomlinson (2001) highlights the use of tiered support materials to meet the diverse needs of learners.

Teaching support materials help adapt instruction while maintaining high standards for all students.

Why have an online resource archive?

The integration of digital tools in art education empowers students to explore their creativity and self-expression through diverse media. Tools like computing devices and platforms such as Wix websites, Google Drive, PebblePad, Powerpoint or Canva can facilitate the creation of various artistic outputs and provide access to digital resources, including virtual museums and galleries. This not only nurtures students' intrinsic motivation and participation but also encourages innovation and collaboration. The inclusion of digital tools aligns with the evolving educational landscape, with the Visual Arts Curriculum advocating for technological adoption to enhance learning outcomes.

Kiefer-Boyd’s (2018) research study revealed that representation of artists with disabilities is lacking, therefore integrating curricula that actively challenge stereotypes, promote understanding of disability experiences, and include diverse representations of disability through artists, visual imagery, and other media. With this in mind, I designed the resource to include a list of disabled artists who work across a variety of mediums and offer unique insights and perspectives within their work.

Furthermore, this learning experience itself builds on prior knowledge of printmaking and they can also build new skills by choosing a medium they haven’t explored yet. The resources provided here, in video, written and visual formats, creates opportunities for students to engage with learning at home. Students can therefore feel empowered to consolidate their learning and extend their knowledge.
